Made as a demonstration of forgework, contains many of the ancent skills of smithing. The gate is avaliable for viewing at the forge. |

To make a gate as complicated as this it would take, as this did upward of 200 man hours that would have a comercial price tagg of around £5500-£6000.00 |

Lock Rail. |
|
A lock has been fitted to the mid rails for saftey when displayed at shows. |

Centre Panel. |
|
The centre panel was very time consuming to construct, it features heavy forged corners bolt end scrolls, penny end scrolls, and bevell edge scrolls. water leafs are used for added decoration and held together with three heavy clips. |

After final riveting the gate was shot blasted and hot zink sprayed and finished with 2k epoxy green the my own colour mix. |

Top Section. |
|
This was particualy time consuming the top platform has to sit perfectly level when the gate hangs this is not as easy as it may seem when the only way of seting this up is by accuracy of the scrolls and centre support. |

No electric welding should ever be used on quality work of this nature. |

New ironwork was made at the entrance of a new garden area, quarry cut york stone was used to fix the railings at the base in the traditional style.the gate was constructed using all hand forged mortice and tenon joints. |
